Baltimore Ravens: Everything we learned in loss to Steelers

7. The Ravens are what they are with John Harbaugh:
John Harbaugh had a great run but the magic is over. The Ravens aren’t going to return to their 2008-2012 ways. It’s just not happening. The only reason Harbaugh is still here is because the first five seasons of his head coaching career were such a positive. Baltimore has missed the playoffs for three straight seasons. They had a win and their in situation last year and they let the Bengals beat them. The purple and black will never get the ship righted with Harbaugh. He is not the future and if the Ravens miss the playoffs, he has to go.
There are some things you cannot blame on a coach. However there is a lot that a coach is accountable for. Harbaugh is accountable for the fact that the purple and black are inconsistent. You never know what kind of effort they will give and that’s on the coaching staff. There have been times where the Ravens have been helplessly unprepared for a football game this season. That’s on Harbaugh. The fact of the matter is that it’s getting old.
Next. Ravens vs. Steelers: The good, bad and the ugly. dark
The Ravens are what they are with Harbaugh as their coach. Finding a replacement isn’t easy and it can surely take the team in the wrong direction. If the Ravens miss the postseason they have to move on though; it’s not just for the sake of change. If the Ravens get it right, they can get out of this loop they seem to be stuck in.
