Reason 3: What Flacco would another team be getting?

This is a fair question, because with Joe Flacco, you never know what you’re going to get. Flacco has been up and down his entire career. In 2012 he went on a great playoff run, but his regular season numbers that year were far from amazing. In 2014 his production peaked, but it dipped down in the years to come. 2018 has seen Flacco look more like a franchise quarterback, but he’s still had a couple of clunker weeks.

Yes, Kurt Warner’s stock went down deep into the crust of the earth after his time with the Rams, only to see a great run with the Cardinals. Formerly great quarterbacks can find the magic again, but Flacco was never really a Kurt Warner like player in the first place. Flacco’s magic really has only shown in the playoffs and in several regular season games that weren’t strung together. Even at his best, Flacco isn’t a player that a team is going to be desperate to have.

Flacco is a hard quarterback to figure out. It’s hard to know how much football he even has left in the tank. This year he has shown that he is still a quarterback that can do good things in this league, but it’s doubtful that it’s enticed a potential trade. There isn’t a great landing spot for him. His contract and the Ravens’ situation with him won’t lead to an easy trade and Flacco may not be worth a trade in the first place. The Ravens will be very interested in trading Flacco, however it’s probably not going to happen.
