Chris Petersen:

Lincoln Riley is a pipe dream, Matt LaFleur is a realistic fit, but Chris Peterson is all of this and so much more. If the Ravens can John Harbaugh, there is a no more enticing and exciting hire the team could make than the University of Washington’s Head Coach.

Petersen has been a poster-boy for success when it comes to offenses. During his long stint at Boise State, Petersen turned Kellen Moore into one of the greatest College Football coaches of all-time. Losing wasn’t something Petersen was used to either, as evident by his 92-12 record as the team’s Head Coach (2006-2013). Petersen has also been a creative offensive play caller, just ask the Oklahoma Sooners how unconventional and effective the Broncos offense was.

Now with the Huskies, Petersen turned a below-average program into an annual CFP contender, including an appearance back in 2017. The Huskies offense has been explosive since he joined the program, making household names out of guys like John Ross, Myles Gaskin, and Jake Browning. Petersen’s success is catching the eyes of many, and a jump to the NFL may be in the cards. After all, Petersen has yet to taste the NFL and could be tempted to make the leap.

If John Harbaugh is indeed out following 2018, an offensive mind would be best suited to succeed him as the next Head Coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Chris Petersen is undoubtedly my pick, but it will be a fun off-season to monitor this situation.
