Baltimore Ravens: 5 Players to Move On From in 2019
Brandon Carr, CB (2019 Age: 33)
Carr is playing like a solid second corner and has been a key piece of the Ravens talented defenses these past two seasons. Sadly, there are too many reasons to let him go. The Ravens have nice depth at corner and have been selecting solid late-round cornerbacks like Tavon Young and Maurice Canady.
The Ravens could save 5 million dollars and combined with Eric Weddle’s cap savings, they could cover Mosley’s contract. These moves make the Ravens younger, faster, and they will have extra cap rooms to make off-season signings.
Carr, similarly to Weddle, won’t have a positive impact on the team next year. Carr with the Ravens has had similar production to his early days in Dallas five years ago, but after his first two seasons there Carr’s production and play dropped substantially. Carr will most likely follow that pattern if he stays in Baltimore, especially with his decline in production already beginning.
