3. Lamar Jackson has to get more through the air:

This is Lamar Jackson’s second start. In his first start, Jackson showed a lot of positive things. However, Jackson has to get more of his production with his arm. Jackson ran the ball 27 times against the Bengals, mostly because they let him. It’s not always going to be so easy for Jackson to make that level of an impact with his legs. The Bengals gave the Raiders and example of what not to do against the Ravens. Jackson will have to make adjustments as the NFL catches up with his unique attack.

This doesn’t mean that Jackson has to all the sudden be a drop back, pocket passer. It means that he will have to complete more than 13 passes to win most NFL games. The Ravens should still get him rolling out of the pocket. That’s where he makes his biggest impact. He needs to constantly make the defense worry about his ability to take off for a big run. Defenses are already worried about Jackson’s legs. When he makes them worry about his arm as well, the Ravens offense will be hard to stop.

The Pros and Cons of sticking with Lamar Jackson at QB. dark. Next

Jackson just needs to make a little progress. He threw the ball well in his first game, he just didn’t do it a lot. The Raiders are expecting to see a ground and pound offense with Jackson’s legs being the x-factor. If Jackson can beat them through the air a few times in the beginning of the game, it could knock off their whole game plan.
