With so much talk about the Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson’s polarizing play, it’s time to assess his Fantasy Football value.

The quarterback play in Fantasy Football for 2018 has been extremely strong. Even after NFL MVP front-runners Drew Brees, Jared Goff, and Patrick Mahomes, there are so many guys who’ve had strong seasons. How quickly we forget about guys like Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck. How lost are guys like Deshaun Watson, Cam Newton, and Russell Wilson in the conversation of elite Fantasy Football players? Have I even mentioned others like Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, or Matt Ryan?

Bottom line, the quarterback position is as good as it’s ever been in the NFL currently, but that doesn’t mean we can’t add another name to the mix. Perhaps Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson can make some waves to end the season. But how realistic is this situation? A lot better than you’d think.

For starters, go and add Jackson to your Fantasy Football squad now if you can. Jackson is own in just 47.1% of ESPN Fantasy Football leagues. Jackson needs to be looked at in just about every different kind of Fantasy Football league imaginable: deep leagues (12+ teams), two-quarterback leagues, keeper leagues, or even dynasty leagues make Jackson is worth a stash. We all know about his fantastic upside and electric play-making, but even more important is an extremely favorable remaining schedule.

To end the year, the Ravens will face the following (with their defensive rank in parentheses):

  • vs Oakland Raiders (26th)
  • @ Atlanta Falcons (29th)
  • @ Kansas City Chiefs (30th)
  • vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (28th)
  • @ Los Angeles Chargers (14th)
  • vs Cleveland Browns (31st)

Only one defense ranks in the top-half of the league (LA Chargers), and they are barely in that discussion. With a player like Lamar Jackson, a physical specimen with unreal upside, facing such a soft schedule, it’s hard not to get excited for his potential. What makes Jackson even more of a threat is his scrambling ability. In Fantasy Football leagues, dual-threat quarterbacks are worth their weight in gold.

The Ravens have surrounded Lamar Jackson with the talent to succeed, and the emergence of guys like Gus Edwards will help the rookie quarterback to establish chemistry with this team and increase his Fantasy football value. Jackson will only get better with every passing week, but his schedule is so favorable that he could make a strong impact in Fantasy Football leagues. Whether it’s with his arm or his legs, Jackson is going to light up the Fantasy Football world to end 2018.
