The Baltimore Ravens take on the Atlanta Falcons in what is looking like Lamar Jackson’s first start on the road. Here are three things to think about:

1. This is a pivotal game for the purple and black:

The Baltimore Ravens have a must win game ahead of them in Atlanta. The Ravens are 6-5 and leading the race for the final playoff spot in the AFC. The Ravens have three very winnable games remaining on the schedule. They have this game against the Atlanta Falcons, and battles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns. If the Ravens lose any of these three games, they will show that they don’t really belong in the postseason. This game is a very pivotal one.

If the Ravens beat the Falcons they will go into Arrowhead Stadium with a 7-5 record. Considering the high likelihood of losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, a win in Atlanta is a must have commodity. A two game losing streak would put a huge sting on the Ravens playoff hopes. Losing this game would be another “Same old Ravens” slip up. It would be a loss against a team with a losing record. It would be a slip up in a game they should have won smoothly, that would cost them in the end.

A win in this game and the Ravens are on track for everything they have worked for. A win means that the Ravens would be riding a three game winning streak. It would probably mean that Lamar Jackson remains the starter for the rest of the season; and that this team has figured out it’s identity moving forward. Beating the Falcons would make them 7-5. An expected slip in Kansas City won’t derail their entire season. The purple and black would just need home wins against the Buccaneers and Browns and that’s nine wins right there. Don’t forget the Chargers game could go either way. There are things on the line for the Ravens, but they have to get the job done on Sunday for that to matter.
