Steelers stumble against Raiders could be huge for Ravens

The Ravens still have a shot to win the AFC North, and that shot stayed the same even after a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Baltimore Ravens have a lot to thank Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders for. The Raiders took down the Ravens’ arch nemesis, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers entered this week a half game ahead of Baltimore and their loss keeps that the same. The Ravens lost a game they figured would be tough. The Steelers lost a game they had figured would be a win. That’s a huge break for Baltimore.

The Steelers still have to play the New England Patriots, a tea, that traditionally owns the Steelers. If that wasn’t enough to get Baltimore fans excited, the Saints are also on the Steelers schedule.

The Steelers just lost to a team that only had two wins. The Steelers leave Oakland reeling. The Steelers have now lost three games in a row. The week before their losing streak began, they barely beat a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars.

The loss to the Chiefs is a completely different kind of loss. This was one that was penciled in as a probable defeat. The Chiefs are the top team in the AFC and they have the highest scoring offense in the league.

Even in a loss, the Ravens legitimized the three game winning start to the Lamar Jackson era in Baltimore. The Ravens are playing their best football of the season. The Steelers are in their second slump of their year. It’s important to remember that the Steelers started the season with a 1-1-2 record. They have shown that they are capable of great things, but they have also shown that they have issues.

The Steelers sit at 7-5-1 and they have three games left. If the Steelers lose to the Patriots and the Saints, the division championship becomes likely for the Ravens. The purple and black still have a tough battle against the Los Angeles Chargers, but Baltimore proved that they will have a shot to bring in the win. Baltimore should be able to beat the Buccaneers and the Browns, and if they don’t they would prove not to be worthy of the division title anyway.

Pittsburgh remains in the AFC North driver seat. It’s their division title to lose, but their path is harder than Baltimore’s, Things are lining up for the Ravens. There’s still a lot of football to be played, but the Steelers losing to the Raiders prevented the Ravens from falling further behind in the division. That’s huge.
