Orange Bowl:

The match-up: Alabama vs. Oklahoma

Prospects:

  • RB Damien Harris (Alabama)
  • WR Marquise Brown (Oklahoma)
  • OG Ben Powers (Oklahoma)
  • DL Raekwon Davis (Alabama)
  • DL Isaiah Buggs (Alabama)
  • EDGE Terrell Lewis (Alabama)
  • EDGE Christian Miller (Alabama)
  • EDGE Anfernee Jennings (Alabama)
  • LB Mack Wilson (Alabama)
  • FS Deionte Thompson (Alabama)

The 2019 NFL Draft isn’t particularly strong offensively, but Oklahoma’s Marquise Brown may be the best vwide receiver in the 2019 NFL Draft. “Hollywood” Brown has been nothing short of stellar in his time as a Sooner, with two 1,000-yard seasons, 17 touchdowns, and a crazy 18.3 career YPR. In the back-field, senior running back Damien Harris is a stud. Harris might be the top running back in the draft, which could propel him into round one. Team’s will also love the lack of miles on Harris, as he currently has less than 500 carries in four-seasons.

Ben Powers would provide the Ravens with more interior offensive line depth, an area in which the team has struggled mightily. Plus, his name is Ben Powers. I mean, c’mon, you couldn’t find a better name for an offensive lineman if you tried!

To the surprise of no one, the Alabama Crimson Tide football team is once again loaded with defensive talent for the 2019 NFL Draft. There’s so many to pick from that they probably should’ve gotten their own slide. What’s even better is the fact that most of their prospects fill needs for the Ravens.

The big-name prospects from Alabama, being Quinnen Williams (DL) and Jonah Williams (OT), were left out of this list, as Baltimore would need at least a top 10 pick to have a shot at either of these guys. The real story here is the edge rushers. These guys roll out on a conveyor belt for the Crimson Tide, and three guys stand out the most: Terrell Lewis, Christian Miller, and Anfernee Jennings.

What’s most intriguing is that none of these players are seniors, meaning they can all return to Alabama for the 2019 season. Should all three of them come out, it’s hard to imagine any of them slipping out of the top 100 picks. This is especially true for Terrell Lewis, as a healthy version of himself should entice the Baltimore Ravens.

The guys up front are also interesting to look at. The Ravens won’t have a shot at Quinnen Williams, but his teammate Raekwon Davis was ranked higher headed into 2018. Just because Williams has passed Davis on the big board doesn’t take away from his greatness, as he could still be a top 15 selection. Wherever he goes, it’ll be a steal. Meanwhile, Isaiah Buggs isn’t elite, but you can’t overlook his production (12.5 TFLs, 9.5 sacks). Yes, the Ravens own a good defensive line, but they hardly get any sack production from those players. That’s where Davis and Buggs would step in.

Rounding out the defense are linebacker Mack Wilson and safety Deionte Thompson. The need for these two players will be entirely dependent on how Free Agency shakes out for Baltimore. Should the team lose C.J. Mosley or opt to cut one of their two safeties, these two players should sit atop the Ravens draft board. Regardless, these two could prove to be upgrades over what the team currently has.
