Marlon Humphrey vs. Mike Evans:

Without a doubt the biggest, most exciting match-up of this game will be a top-tier wide receiver in Mike Evans vs. an unheralded shutdown cornerback in Marlon Humphrey. Evans is highly regarded among the league as a top 10 receiver and his unreal athleticism backs up his claim. Meanwhile, Humphrey continues to glide under the radar, which could prove to be Evans’ undoing.

Evans is having another solid season despite the revolving door of inconsistency at the quarterback position. Evans has over 1,200 receiving yards this season, and is currently on pace for a career high 1,486-yards, while also hitting the century-mark six times this year. The fifth-year pro from Texas A&M may only have five touchdowns, this is mainly due to the weak play of both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston at quarterback.

As for the Ravens side of this fight, it’s hard to rack up a stellar stat-sheet when no one wants to challenge you. That’s precisely what’s gone down for Marlon Humphrey in 2018. Humphrey has missed two games this season, but has 29 tackles and eight pass break-ups through 11 games. And you can ask whoever you want about Marlon Humphrey and they’ll all tell you that the dude has sticky coverage.

Humphrey had an awesome rookie season in 2017, but he came to play in 2018 and has stood tall against top-tier competition this year. Evans will be no different than some of the other monsters he’s seen before him, which gives us plenty of confidence in his skills. Evans may be a monster of a man, but Humphrey is the new lock-down cornerback in the NFL. The match-up between him and Evans will provide Ravens Flock with further evidence of this claim.
