3. Can the offense put up enough points?
The Ravens have played some pretty mediocre defenses in Jackson’s 4-1 reign as quarterback. The Ravens offense does have some things to boast about (They have the most rushing yards in that stretch and have led the league in time of possession) but the offense hasn’t been a juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination. The Ravens put up 20 points against a Buccaneers team that allows nearly 30 points per game. The defense and special teams have contributed to the scoreboard numerous times in the last five games.
The Ravens are facing the most complete team they have seen, maybe besides the New Orleans Saints. The Chargers have the best defense on the 2018 Ravens schedule. The offense may need to put up more than their typical 20-24 points. If the Ravens get behind in this game, it remains to be seen if Jackson can create a comeback as a passer. If the Chargers have an answer for the Ravens rushing attack, Jackson is going to be required to beat them with his arm. Jackson has arm talent, but he hasn’t passed for 200 yards in a game yet. The Ravens offense is versatile with Jackson, but in a way it is very limited as well.
The Ravens should be optimistic that they can win this game. They have won four of the last five games for a reason, and it’s not just because of strength of schedule. That doesn’t mean that it will be easy. There are legitimate concerns about the Ravens ability to go into Los Angeles and walk away with a win. These are the big three.
