Marlon Humphrey:

Of every single Ravens player on this list, who are all more than deserving of a Pro Bowl nod, none have been more deserving than second-year cornerback Marlon Humphrey.

Honestly, what does it take for someone as good as Humphrey to get a Pro Bowl nod? I challenge you to name ten cornerbacks in the entire NFL, let alone the AFC, who are better than Marlon Humphrey. There aren’t many whatsoever, and yet we still found a way to snub Humphrey.

Similarly to Michael Pierce’s issue, Humphrey doesn’t have the flashy stats that other cornerbacks have. Miami Dolphins corner Xavien Howard is outstanding, and his seven interceptions on the season are remarkable. However, Humphrey, through and through, is the better cornerback, especially for sustained, long-term success. The way Marlon Humphrey plays the game gives us tons of optimism for the future.

The rest of the AFC cornerback depth is fine, but uninspiring. Jalen Ramsey in 2018 has been great, but not elite like he was in 2017. Denzel Ward is a up-incoming corner who had a really good rookie season, while Stephon Gilmore finally broke out in New England, but he isn’t elite. Call me biased, but I would take Humphrey over these three every day of the week.

Next. Marlon Humohrey is the Ravens best defensive player in 2018. dark

The bottom line is the Pro Bowl is inconsistent and is not now, nor will it ever be, a reliable instrument to measure a player’s skills. Every year players fall through the cracks who have better seasons than those who made the Pro Bowl. There were several Baltimore Ravens who got bamboozled out of Pro Bowl nods, but that’s alright. At the end of the day, at least Ravens Flock can appreciate these players!
