The Good:

The Ravens controlled the action at the start of the game. The Ravens defense came away with an interception on the first play of the game. Gus Edwards had a run that went over 40 yards and set up the first field goal. The Ravens offense had problematic moments in the game but Lamar Jackson had his best game yet, and he did it against his stiffest competition. Jackon’s stat line was impressive. He had his first 200 yard passing day and he rushed for 32 yards. The Ravens rushed for 159 total yards.

The defense was insanely good. They sacked Phillip Rivers four times. They picked him off twice and recovered a fumble that sealed the game with a defensive touchdown. The only times the Chargers were able to put up points, was when they were given a short field. The Ravens defense had their best game of the season, a pretty impressive feat for the number one defense in the NFL. Rivers is having a great season and he only had 181 yards on Baltimore. That says it all.

The Ravens responded to some adversity beautifully in this game. The prime example of this came after Kenneth Dixon’s fumble that opened the second half. The Chargers took the lead with a quick touchdown. Lamar Jackson responded with a long touchdown pass to Mark Andrews. The Ravens gave the Chargers the momentum and instead of spiraling, they took it right back. The Ravens came ready to play today in a way, that was refreshing. The Chargers were rested but it looked like they were the team on a short week.
