Baltimore Ravens set for playoff rematch against Los Angeles Chargers

The Ravens have earned the right to play at least one more game. They will battle the Los Angeles Chargers in M&T Bank Stadium, on Sunday at 1:05 pm.

The Baltimore Ravens are set to play the Los Angeles Chargers next Sunday after beating the Cleveland Browns in week 17 of the NFL season. The postseason is here and the Ravens start their attempt to win Super Bowl LIII with a rematch. It was just over a week ago, that the Ravens beat the Chargers 22-10 in Los Angeles.

The Ravens have a couple advantages right off the start. First, the Chargers are playing in Baltimore in the early Sunday slot. The game is at 1:05 pm, however it will feel like ten in the morning to the Chargers. Secondly, the Ravens already be them in a what was essentially a playoff game. Baltimore had to win their final three games to get this shot. The Ravens already know they can beat the Chargers in a win or go home situation.

The Chargers are one of the best teams in the AFC, so this game will be anything but easy. While the Ravens have already proven that they can beat Phillip Rivers and Co. they also showed their hand.

It won’t be a surprise when the Ravens try to beat Los Angeles with a great running game and great pass rush. Head coach, Anthony Lynn, has an entire week to devise a game plan that can avoid the pitfalls of the Chargers first battle with Baltimore.

This will be the first home playoff game the Ravens have played since their Super Bowl run in 2012. That season also saw the Ravens with the fourth seed in the AFC and a division championship. It is the first time the Ravens have made the playoffs since 2014. Baltimore has missed the playoffs for three straight seasons.

Before the week 16 clash with the Chargers, the Ravens announced that John Harbaugh would return to be the head coach in 2019. The Ravens playoff appearance gives Harbaugh a chance to reward the franchise for it’s commitment to him. Harbaugh has a 10-5 playoff record and has never lost in the opening round of the postseason.
