3. Jared Goff has to be ready:

This is Tom Brady’s ninth trip to the Super Bowl. Jared Goff hasn’t even been around for nine seasons. When the Rams looked bad this season, Goff looked worse. In the Rams’ loss to the Chicago Bears he only totaled 180 yards and had four picks. He had two interceptions and two fumbles against the Eagles. He didn’t have many stumbles, but when he did it looked rough. When Goff struggled this season he missed throws that he normally made look easy. Goff is coming off an incredible season, but the Patriots know they can beat him if they get him out of sync.

When Goff is on, the Rams are nearly unstoppable. Goff had 4,688 yards, 32 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. He is clearly able to play like one of the best quarterbacks in the game. Goff has to live up to the moment. He needs to spread the ball around, and get the ball out on time. He needs to go into this game knowing that he has to out-duel a Hall of Fame level quarterback. The Rams can’t win this game if they don’t get a good performance from the most important position on the field.

Goff doesn’t seem to get the respect that this type of season should afford him. He put up bigger numbers than some of the biggest named quarterbacks in the NFL. There is a perception that he’s a system quarterback and that he has the tools around him with a masterful head coach guiding him. Well on Super Bowl Sunday, Goff will be on that football field with the ball in his hands. If he wants a Lombardi Trophy he has to be able to outshine Brady.
