2. Devin Singletary (Florida Atlantic)

Devin Singletary reminds me a lot of Ladanian Tomlinson. Singletary isn’t a big bruising running back but he has incredible speed. His acceleration is incredible, he gets to his top speed with relative ease as one of the smoothest athletes in the entire draft class. Singletary makes defenders reach and miss on a regular basis. The man is harder to catch than a fly with a jet pack. He is a surprisingly powerful runner and he churns his legs on every play at all times.

In three years as the big fish in a small pond, he totaled 4,287 rushing yards and averaged six yards per carry. NFL teams like to copy what works, look for somebody to try to make Singletary the next Alvin Kamara. Singletary is the most electric and flashy running back in this draft class. There is some concern about his size, and the fact that he played at Florida Atlantic. That being said, turn on the tape and tell me he’s not the most dynamic player at the position. Watch this guy, he’s good.

Singletary would be a perfect weapon for Lamar Jackson’s offense. Could you imagine a defense having to account for the speed of Jackson and Singletary? While Singletary can make something out of nothing and there are times when he gets his Barry Sanders impressions on, he’s really a downhill running back. Singletary could be deadly with Greg Roman’s offense.
