Kelvin Harmon:

By now, you should have noticed a theme among the wide receivers I’ve linked to the Baltimore Ravens: big, strong receivers with a vast catch radius. Why is that exactly? Because when you have a quarterback who struggles with accuracy, the best thing you can do for him is get a receiver who can catch whatever you throw at him. As Lamar Jackson grows into becoming a more well-rounded quarterback, there will be many cramps and aches, but getting him someone to grow with will be its dividends in the long-run.

With that being said, Kelvin Harmon is just one more wide receiver who the Ravens would be wise to consider in the first round. Harmon is a big man at 6’3″ 214-lbs. and has the mindset of grabbing anything thrown his way. While far from a possession receiver, Harmon is an ideal body to move the chains consistently. It also helps that Harmon has an easy time catching every target he gets.

The only thing that Harmon lacks is deep-speed. Harmon will never be the guy to take the top off a defense, nor will he be the guys to run for 50+ yards and score the big touchdown consistently. Instead, Harmon is a chip-away kind of receiver, as he’ll wear defenses down with his play strength.

Harmon is the perfect player to help build Jackson’s accuracy consistently. Think of him as a younger, steadier Michael Crabtree without the brick hands. Adding Harmon to the Ravens roster would be a massive boon for their third-down offense and is the kind of guy who extends drives with clutch catches. Harmon isn’t the sexy pick at 22nd overall, but he’s the guy who wins in the long-run.
