Ndamukong Suh

With all the needs the purple and black legitimately have, signing Ndamukong Suh wouldn’t make a ton of sense. The Ravens have already put big money into Brandon Williams. They have to keep Michael Pierce around for the long-term because he’s become a star. The defensive line also has some up and coming talent like Chris Wormley and Willie Henry. DeCosta could add to the position group, but a 32 year old defensive tackle isn’t what he needs.

Suh is still a very good player, but he is not the dominant force that he once was. The Ravens would make a big splash if they signed Suh, but it wouldn’t have the desired outcome. Baltimore has always been good at finding young defensive tackles. Even in one of their worst draft classes they found Williams. Pierce wasn’t even drafted. The defensive line isn’t at the top of the priority list and free agency isn’t the way to go about it.

If DeCosta was somehow inclined to spend money on a defensive lineman or a pass rusher, Suh wouldn’t even be the man for the job. Trey Flowers is an incredible defensive end who would translate perfectly from the New England Patriots into Don Martindale’s defense. Jadeveon Clowney, Dee Ford and Frank Clark all would make more sense than Suh, for pass rushing aid. This isn’t the area that the purple and black need to invest in the most, but Suh isn’t a great option.
