Verdict:

At the end of the day, it’s highly unlikely either of these players makes it to Baltimore, and that’s O.K. Honestly, both of these players are more distractions than they are impactful. Their career windows are shortening rapidly and could easily fall apart this season. Neither of them are safe bets to give up large capital for. If the Ravens are smart, and they certainly are, they’ll stay as far away as possible from these two players.

However, the point of this article is to identify which one the Ravens should target. With that being said, the easy answer is Le’Veon Bell. We touched on the team’s new/re-found philosophy of running the football down the opponents throat, and Bell (obviously) fits that billing. Bell can be (pun incoming) a bell-cow for a team’s backfield, and Lamar Jackson could certainly use his expertise to grow. Bell is also a fantastic dump off option in the passing game, giving Jackson one more player to trust.

Unfortunately with Antonio Brown, he simply has issues that can’t be solved by a change of scenery. Brown needs to get help from outside the football field and the locker room. While I am in no sense speculating here, it would be best for Brown to perhaps see a professional to help him get his head straight and focused on his game.

Brown would be perfect for Jackson to grow with, but there is seemingly a high-chance that Brown would constantly be berating the 22-year old for his struggles. We all know the locker room has Jackson’s back, and that could turn ugly fast…

Truth be told, the Baltimore Ravens would be better off addressing these positions via the draft or through a free agent who will have a considerably smaller price tag. Both of these players are unspeakably talented, but are they worth the hassle? If the front office decides they are, it would be best if they went after Le’Veon Bell, rather than Antonio Brown.
