2019 NFL Draft: Predicting the Ravens top 1st round targets
Wild Card:
Kyler Murray QB, Oklahoma (5’10 195 lbs): If this pick were to happen it would send shock waves throughout the NFL. At first glance this looks like a longshot because the Ravens just spent a first round pick on quarterback Lamar Jackson last year but hear me out. With Joe Flacco “unofficially” going to Denver and the future of Robert Griffin III unclear, the Ravens could be looking for a backup to Jackson that resembles his skill set and the teams offensive scheme.
Jackson’s playing style as a running quarterback arguably makes him more vulnerable to injury, making the backup quarterback position more important than in years past. Kyler Murray would bring excellent insurance to the quarterback position in Baltimore, but is insurance worth a first round pick? That’s the question first year GM Eric DeCosta will ask himself if Murray is there at pick 22. My Pro Comparison: Russell Wilson
