The Baltimore Ravens need help at wide receiver, but running back depth is also a big need that can be solved via the 2019 NFL Draft, no matter which round.

When you’re historically a team who loves to run the football, it only makes sense that you would have a plethora of talented running backs on your roster. The Baltimore Ravens are undoubtedly known for their run game, but the current roster lacks any stars, or even above-average running backs.

Yes, Lamar Jackson is so dynamic as a runner that he will make the running backs around him better, but he still needs a legitimate partner in crime. Maybe one day that’ll be Gus Edwards, but how fair is it to place those kind of lofty expectations on a former undrafted rookie free agent?

This year’s Free Agency pool is an intriguing one. Guys like Le’Veon Bell, Tevin Coleman, Mark Ingram and others could solve the Ravens void in the backfield. There’s plenty of fish in this Free Agency market, but the NFL Draft is always the best route to go. Thankfully, the 2019 NFL Draft has plenty of guys to look at.

While the 2019 NFL Draft will get its claim to fame from its defensive prospects, the running back group is quietly good. At worst, these prospects are certainly interesting. Only one player has true round one value, but there’s too many guys to count that can be day one contributors in the later rounds of the draft.
