Round 3: Damien Harris

Remember that other Alabama running back I mentioned earlier when talking about Josh Jacobs? Well, here he is, Mr. Damien Harris.

Harris actually entered the season as my RB1, and he still may finish that way. In 10 years from now, we may not even remember Harris played at Alabama because of how under-utilized he was in college. However, NFL teams will be more than fine with that because of how fresh his legs are. It’s not very often you see Alabama running backs go to the NFL with low-mileage, but both Harris and Jacobs will be just that.

Despite the sparse usage with the Crimson tide, Harris still accumulated an impressive 3,070 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in four-seasons. Harris is also just 22-years old and has a great build (5’10” 216-lbs.). Combine all of that, and you have yourself an ace running back.

It’s depressing how overlooked Harris has become in this draft class. Between stars like Jacobs and Henderson, and sleepers like Justice Hill and Elijah Holyfield, Harris is somehow lost in translation. Nonetheless, Harris remains one of the top-backs in the 2019 NFL Draft class.

The Ravens should be in perfect position to snatch up Harris in round three. If they pass/miss out on Jacobs in round one, Harris is the ideal “consolation prize.”
