3. Clelin Ferrell, OLB (Clemson)

Clelin Ferrell would be a perfect option for the Ravens, espescially if they cannot land Justin Houston in free agency. The very fact that we’re talking about adding players like Houston and Ferrell, tells you that Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser are far from proven commodities. Ferrell has a chance to be the next Terrell Suggs like player for the Ravens. If he’s there at 22, he will probably be too valuable of a player to pass up. Ferrell looks the part. He’s a 6’5″ 260 pound linebacker with long arms and a very intimidating frame. He’s also got the production to prove it.

Ferrell is a player that has gotten better every season. In 2016 he had six sacks, a number he topped in 2017 with 9.5 sacks. In 2018 he had 11.5 sacks and was one of the most feared defensive players in all of College Football. If the Ravens draft Ferrell he is a day one starter whose explosive talent will make him a backfield menace. Ferrell has all the markings of a star and he’s the pass rusher that is most likely to be there at 22, in a defensive heavy draft class.

The Ravens need to replace the production of Suggs, who went to the Arizona Cardinals. They also need to replace the production of Za’Darius Smith. Obviously, Ferrell doesn’t have the veteran savvy of Suggs, but he is more explosive. To put this another way, Ferrell is basically a young Suggs.
