Cleveland Browns Draft Preview:
More from Ravens Draft
- 5 Georgia Bulldogs the Ravens might draft to follow Todd Monken
- Ravens prepare for Marcus Peters’ departure in 2023 mock draft
- One 2023 NFL Draft prospect the Ravens ‘should be watching’
- Ravens pick a wide receiver in way-too-early 2022 NFL re-draft
- Ravens go for extra pass defense in surprising 2020 redraft
The Browns are having the offseason of their dreams. Odell Beckham Jr. adds to a receiving corps that already had Jarvis Landry as a star receiver. Baker Mayfield is indeed all that and a bag of chips and the Browns are coming off a 7-8-1 season. Kareem Hunt will be added to the mix after his eight game suspension and the Browns now have talent all over the roster. It feels odd, but the Browns have hope to win the AFC North.
Freddie Kitchens has been promoted to the head coaching position. It will be interesting to see how Kitchens handles a team that suddenly has a lot of star talent. The Browns defense has a good bit of talent but it is the area that needs the most help. If the Browns can give Myles Garrett and Larry Ogunjobi some more talent around them, the Browns front seven could be a force to be reckoned with.
Draft Position: No first round pick. They have the 49th pick in the second round
Draft Needs:
- Secondary help
- Pass rushers
- Linebacker
- Offensive Line
The Browns have to hope that cornerbacks or safeties fall to them in the second round. By the time they get on the clock, Greedy Williams, DeAndre Baker and Byron Murphy should be off the board at the cornerback spot. They could land a player like Julian Love from Notre Dame or Rock Ya-Sin from Temple to help their secondary. At the safety position the Browns could maybe land a player like Taylor Rapp, whose 40 time may keep him out of the first round.
