Pittsburgh Steelers Draft Preview:

The Steelers officially lost Le’Veon Bell in free agency, ending a year long saga. Antonio Brown worked his way to the Oakland Raiders and the Steelers are looking to end the drama that plagued them in 2018. Ben Roethlisberger lost weapons no matter how you look at it. The Steelers probably should have won the AFC North last year. It took a 6-1 surge from the Ravens and Steelers losses against the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints to keep Pittsburgh out of the playoffs.

The Steelers will move forward with JuJu Smith-Schuster as the main star of the offense. Pittsburgh will surely want to reload on offense. The defense is however the real area of focus at the moment.

Steelers Draft Position: 20th overall pick

Draft Needs:

  • Linebacker
  • Cornerback
  • Edge Rusher
  • Wide Receiver

The Steelers still have to replace Ryan Shazier, an absence they’ve felt for nearly two years. Linebacker is going to be a hard need to fill at the 20th pick. Devin Bush and Devin White will go off the board early and the value at linebacker isn’t going to be their best pick. The Steelers best play at 20 would be a cornerback. If Greedy Williams falls to them it’s the obvious pick. DeAndre Baker and Byron Murphy are also players to keep an eye on here. Don’t rule out a receiver like A.J. Brown. The Steelers lost offensive fire power and they value receivers more than most teams in the NFL.
