Week 16: @ Cleveland Browns

This is normally where we would pin the Pittsburgh Steelers, who the Ravens will take on in the final game of the 2019 regular season. Instead, the Cleveland Browns have (on paper) established themselves as the team to beat in the AFC North. What a time to be alive…

In all seriousness, this Cleveland Browns team could go 16-0… in a Madden simulation based off the team’s roster. Quarterback Baker Mayfield, who just set the rookie passing touchdowns record in just 13 starts, now has All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to throw to. OBJ isn’t alone, however, as the Browns offense also contains Pro Bowlers like Jarvis Landry and Kareem Hunt, as well as up-incoming stars like David Njoku and Nick Chubb.

Cleveland’s offense could be the talk of the league this summer. But while the Browns defense isn’t elite, their defensive line, captained by Myles Garrett, could be one of the most feared units in the entire NFL.

When the Baltimore Ravens first square off against the Browns, it’ll be in week four. However, the two rivals’ week 16 dual will be the most telling, as it could very well decide who wins the AFC North crown. Traveling to Cleveland, Ohio will be a disadvantage for the Ravens, but this doesn’t automatically put this game out-of-reach. When the going gets tough, the tough get going, and perhaps Baltimore will carry this mentality into the Dawg-Pound.

Is this Cleveland Browns team for real, or are they another “dream-team” destined to fail? Until we know for sure, we have to expect these Cleveland Browns to be formidable. Beating the Browns towards the end of the season will be huge for the Ravens, and could easily be the most satisfying victory for the team, and its fans, in 2019.
