3 things the 2019 NFL Draft taught us about the Baltimore Ravens offense
2. Matt Skura is probably going to be the starting center:
The Ravens were a team that many analysts thought were in heavy on Garrett Bradbury, the center prospect from N.C. State. Erik McCoy was another name that was linked to the purple and black during the draft. A center was almost universally considered a draft need for Baltimore. Eric DeCosta only took one offensive lineman in the 2019 NFL Draft and it was a guard, not a center. Ben Powers has a good chance to start at left guard, but that is the only major change for the offensive line group.

Skura should enter training camp with the job. There will be competition from Bradley Bozeman, however Skura has the most experience at the position. The Ravens haven’t brought any more competition for the starting job in the the middle of the offensive line. The Ravens either think Skura is good enough or that he will take another step forward with another season as a starter under his belt. One way or another it’s hard to imagine another player snapping the ball to Jackson.
The interior of the offensive line has been a problem, but the Ravens may believe that Skura isn’t the reason for that. The left guard position wasn’t exactly a strong suit for Baltimore last season. James Hurst and Alex Lewis are both coming off disappointing seasons. If Powers is a plug and play starter Skura’s performance could improve dramatically. The offensive line is only as strong as it’s weak link. If the left guard position was the weakest link, Skura could have been unfairly judged. He is the most likely starter at center and we’ll find out of that’a a good thing or not during the season.
