3. Greg Roman calling the right shots:

Greg Roman is a genius when it comes to running the football. Last season during the 6-1 stretch at the end of the season, the Ravens had the most creative running game the NFL has seen since the Miami Dolphins popularized the wildcat offense. This can be a wrinkle of the offense but the Ravens have to build upon it or predictability will be their downfall. Roman needs to bring the offense into a new phase. They need to have Jackson get more work done as a passer. Roman needs to bring balance to the offense.

The plan should be to base everything off the running game. The running game will open up the passing game and the passing game will keep defenses honest. That’s why the Ravens have speed all over the field. The defense can’t get overly consumed with keeping up with Lamar Jackson. Making it a speed fest all over the field makes the Ravens much more dangerous and much harder for defenses to deal with. There is a lot the Ravens can do on offense and it doesn’t just hinge on the progress of Jackson. Roman is an integral part in making this work. If he calls the right shots, Jackson’s play-making ability is going to make the Ravens a scary team.

Next. Baltimore Ravens 2019 NFL Draft superlatives. dark

The Baltimore Ravens have a chance to be a contender in the 2019 season. If they can build upon what they started last year offensively they will have be a stronger team than many pundits expect them to be. It’s a prove it type deal for Jackson but the same can be said about Roman as the offensive coordinator. Time will tell if he is the right man for the job. If he is, the Ravens are for real.
