Did you know that Kenny Young had the fourth most tackles on the Ravens defense last season? Think about that. The only linebacker with more 2018 tackles for the Ravens than C.J. Mosley was Young. He had 51 tackles and 2.5 sacks as a rookie. If Young could be this productive as a rookie, he could be due for a big second season. One thing is for sure, he should get more playing time in 2019.

Young is one of the quickest linebackers in the NFL and his athleticism translates into coverage skills and sideline to sideline play-making ability. The most impressive thing about his rookie season is that Young played fast. He played with a confidence and a feel for the game that you expect from an experienced pro. The Ravens haven’t made a move at inside linebacker and it tells you a lot. Onwuasor and Young are the mainstays of the inside linebacker positions. The Ravens are betting on Young being a big part of their defense in 2019.

Young is a player who was able to contribute right away because his talent translated perfectly to the NFL. He’s only going to get better. Inside linebacker is a position that has been considered a positional need for the Ravens but it could be the surprise strength of the team.
