Sacks: Tim Williams

I’m not entirely ready to abandon all hope on Tim Williams, but I am more than willing to say that I’m beyond impatient. It wasn’t long ago I claimed Williams to be the next great Baltimore Ravens edge rusher. Instead, he’s struggled to find the field and hasn’t put everything together.

We all know what Williams is capable of. Back to his days at the University of Alabama, we saw him burst off the snap and bend the edge with his speed. Last preseason, we saw the same thing out of Williams. His two sacks in the 2018 regular season were nothing note worthy, but he got them using that same skill set.

Now, it sounds like it could be more of the same:

It’s all there. All the potential, all the flashes, the scheme, the opportunity… Everything is in place for Tim Williams to emerge in 2019. If Williams puts it all together, we could have a spectacular season in the making. Don’t forget about a secondary that’ll force quarterbacks to hang on to the ball longer, and a defensive line that will eat offensive linemen alive.

Think Frank Clark (Kansas City Chiefs): remarkably productive without a ton of media attention.

We all know that Williams’ floor is as deep as the ocean trench, but we should agree that his ceiling is as high as the sky. If Williams puts it all together in 2019, double-digit sacks isn’t out of the question here.
