3. The Production he should strive for:
A good goal for Boykin would be 35 receptions for 552 yards and five touchdowns. That’s more than reasonable production for a third round pick in his rookie year. Reasonable goals are a benefit that first round picks aren’t afforded. Brown has to step in and be a game changer because that is what is expected of him. Boykin just needs to be a solid contributor to the offense.
35 receptions is a good goal because it’s not asking too much. Boykin can grow into being a number two receiver. That’s his upside. He will probably not be a true number one receiver, yet he will be one of the better players on the offense. The Ravens will be eager to feed Brown the football. Mark Andrews and Willie Snead are targets that Jackson is already familiar with. Boykin just needs to work on being included in the nucleus of the offense.
The moral of the story is that Boykin has the potential to be a very good receiver in the NFL. He is entering his rookie season. He should be a strong part of the Ravens’ passing attack. Setting reasonable numbers for Boykin to reach is important. He has a ton of potential. The number one thing you want to see in 2019 is proof that he will fulfill that high potential.
