3. Rush for 1,500 yards

This is a goal that pretty much every running back has every season. For the Ravens, it is absolutely crucial that Ingram meets this goal. The Ravens need the running game to be one of the best in the league. They need a running game that takes pressure off their young quarterback and sets up opportunities for him in the passing game. Ingram was brought in to be the main star of the offense. 1,000 yards is the minimum expectation.

Ingram is going to be part of a three headed monster in the running game. He doesn’t have to do it all alone. That being said 1,500 yards would be a fair number to go for. 1,000 is a standard goal for a standard offense. 1,500 is the goal you apply when you are the number one running back of a team that will probably have the most rushing attempts in the league. 1,500 yards would shatter his previous season high by a good bit. Ingram’s best season in the NFL was 1,124 rushing yards in 2017.

Remember, his workload is going to go up. It’s him and Gus Edwards with Justice Hill as the change of pace. It’s a lofty goal, but it is one that he is capable of hitting in this offense. This is the offense where 1,500 yards all the sudden becomes a reality. It’s a lot to ask of a 29 year old running back. The Ravens will be more than happy to settle for 1,300 yards which is a more realistic goal. Half the battle with setting goals though, is to reach for the very edge of what is possible. 1,500 is the appropriate amount of yards that Ingram should shoot for on the ground.
