The Baltimore Ravens biggest addition this offseason was free safety, Earl Thomas. Here are three goals for the veteran defensive back:

1. Pick up where he left off:

The Baltimore Ravens have high hopes for their Earl Thomas. Earl Thomas only played in four games in the 2018 season and he had 22 tackles, five passes defended and three interceptions. Thomas was on pace to have the best statistical output of his career and then he got hurt. Thomas, who is considered one of the better ball hawks in the league has a career high of five interceptions. He was well on his way to topping that number last season and there’s no reason he can’t pick up where he left off. The Ravens loaded secondary should give Thomas the freedom to be aggressive and intercept the most passes he ever has in one year.

Thomas has had one of the most amazing careers a safety in the NFL can have. He has been to six Pro Bowls and has won a Super Bowl. Thomas is arguably building a Pro Football Hall of Fame worthy career. Thomas can add to that legacy by finishing his career strong with several seasons in Baltimore.

While Thomas has the proven track record, he still has a lot to prove. He’s suffered two serious injuries and he is 30 years old. Thomas was on pace to have his best season in 2018 but will have to try to top his career highs in 2019 instead. Doing so would prove that he is still as great as he always was.
