2. Patrick Onwuasor: Rated 74 overall

Patrick Onwuasor is a player slated to fill C.J. Mosley’s shoes. He has had a decent career already. While the Ravens are hoping to get a step up from Onwuasor in 2019, they have already gotten solid work from him. He has 171 career tackles to go along with 6.5 sacks and an interception. He’s been a part of the Ravens defense for the past three years as a player that rotated in and out of the game. Onwuasor isn’t a player that has to prove that he’s a good linebacker. The only thing he has to prove is that he can be an every down difference maker the way that Mosley was.

Onwuasor has the same rating as Tim Williams. Williams has done next to nothing for the Ravens since he was drafted in 2017. The pass rush is one of the major question marks about this team in a large part due to Williams’ inability to get playing time the past few seasons. Tyus Bowser, who is just as unproven as Williams is rated a 72. Onwuasor is a much more accomplished player than Bowser and Williams yet his Madden 20 rating doesn’t reflect that. That is something that isn’t fair.

Onwuasor is rated an 83 in tackling. This is a number that I can live with, yet Onwuasor is one of the most sure tacklers on the team. The fact that his strength is only a 74 makes no sense. These ratings are one of the coolest features of the game. The ratings are the conversational piece for the fans of the video game and it’s a big deal when they are unveiled. If they think Onwuasor is a 74 overall, EA Sports is not paying attention. If I had to give Onwuasor a player rating it would be in the upper 80’s. He’s not a superstar but he is an above average talent whose stock is only going up.
