The Ravens made Williams the 78th overall selection of the 2017 NFL draft out of the University of Alabama and to this point he has responded by starting 0 games and recording just two sacks last season.

The outside linebacker had amassed 18.5 sacks over his final two seasons under Nick Saban and when he was drafted, the Ravens had visions of him taking the torch from future Hall of famer Terrell Suggs. Suggs has now moved onto Arizona and the Ravens have drafted another potential replacement in Jaylon “Sack Daddy” Ferguson to hopefully fill the void.

Williams had a minor ankle injury last season but he was a healthy scratch at times as well. The Ravens added Pernell McPhee and Shane Ray, two veteran pass rushers who are hoping to find their glory days with a fresh start in Baltimore.

Matt Judon has a lock-down on one of the starting spots with Ferguson, Ray and McPhee looking to compete for the other spots along with Williams, and fellow 2017 draft bust Tyus Bowser. Bowser has shown some ability to play inside which provides some versatility for the Ravens that may be too good to pass up. Last year the Ravens traded 2016 draft bust Kamalei Correa at the conclusion of the preseason.
