The Baltimore Ravens got the preseason off to a great start. They dominated the Jaguars so let’s start with the good:

1. A Quick Start for the offense:

There were a ton of good things on display for the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason. The best part of the night was the Ravens starters dominated in the little time they had one the field. There were notable players that didn’t play, but the starters who got time on the field got in had their day end after quickly doing their job. Lamar Jackson orchestrated two drives and both of them ended with points (albeit the first drive ended with a field goal). He threw a touchdown pass to Willie Snead and completed two big passes to Chris Moore.

The offense had mostly positive occurrences in this game. There were some things that didn’t go their way. Trace McSorely did have an awful interception where he stared down his target. Miles Boykin couldn’t come up with a catch on an early third down against tight coverage. Overall however, it was almost all positive. McSorely would have had a touchdown pass to Boykin if it weren’t for a holding penalty. Boykin really stole the show late in the second quarter. The Notre Dame product caught four receptions for 39 yards. He showed plenty of exciting potential.

Justice Hill looked very impressive. There were some plays where he got bottled up, but when it looked good it looked very good. Kenneth Dixon had some success when his name was called early on. Mark Ingram didn’t play and his presence wasn’t really missed in the preseason opener. It was nice to see players like Hill, Dixon and even De’Lance Turner get work in.
