This essentially clears up one roster spot for the regular season. Don’t be surprised if a defensive back you weren’t thinking about makes the team. It could be a player like Stanley Jean-Baptiste. Jean-Baptiste is a player that the Ravens are familiar with and he’s shown a little promise.
It could make a roster spot for Bennett Jackson, who is stuck behind big names at the safety position. It could help make room for Justin Bethel, a special teams standout, to make the team. The Ravens have to cut it down to six or seven cornerbacks by the time the regular season is about to begin. There is one less man with a promised roster spot for the season opener and it may prevent a roster cut the coaching staff doesn’t want to make anyway.
