Running backs and fullback:
4. Mark Ingram II
5. Gus Edwards
6. Justice Hill
7. Kenneth Dixon
8. Pat Ricard
The Hardest Cut: It was hard to say goodbye to Tyler Ervin, because he has some serious potential as a return specialist. This group is as good as you will find in any backfield. If Kenneth Dixon is healthy, the Ravens should keep him. Four running backs is appropriate when you want to be the top running team in the NFL. Ervin provides value, but he isn’t the play-maker that the other four players are out of the backfield.
Easiest decision: Pat Ricard fits perfectly at the fullback position. This preseason the Ravens have explored the idea of giving him the rock in short yardage situations. Ricard is a great blocking fullback, who may now just be a key to picking up tough first downs on the ground.
Player to highlight: Justice Hill is the most exciting player of the group. Hill is a running back who has speed and elusiveness in a surplus amount. Look for Hill to be an x-factor for this team.
