3. Cyrus Jones or Anthony Averett has to step it up a notch:

The Ravens lost Tavon Young to a neck injury and now they need a defensive back to be his replacement. Two potential fill ins for the Young are Cyrus Jones and Anthony Averett. Both players have had an up and down showing this preseason. Jones needs to do better on inside routes when he lines up as the cornerback over the slot. Averett needs to play a bit more disciplined. One of these two players has to win a job that was locked up by another player until a week ago.

The Ravens defense has a lot of good things going so far. Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser have played decently off the edge. Patrick Onwuasor, Chris Board and Kenny Young have looked sharp. The Ravens have gotten great safety play in all four quarters of both games. The defense has one big area of doubt that popped up with Young’s injury. The Ravens need a player to step up and be the answer to dispelling this doubt.

The Ravens have to build on these three things to go into the regular season with confidence. The fourth preseason game is for the players who are vying for roster spots. The preseason does help teams get ready for regular season action, however the fourth exhibition game is has no impact on week 1. This is the last preseason game where the team can get positive work done towards the games that count.
