The Bad:

Josh McCown had a lot of success against the Ravens. He went 17-24 for 192 yards and two touchdowns. He made a runaway game all the sudden competitive. The Ravens secondary had a lot of trouble stopping J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, who had eight receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown. If that name sounds familiar, I wrote very highly of him as a prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft class. The Ravens defense did well against the run, the pass defense was a problem at times.

The pass rush was mostly nonexistent for the Ravens. There were a couple sacks and there was a bit of a spark out of Tyus Bowser. The pass rushers didn’t make a huge impact in this game though, and Baltimore could have started a search party for Shane Ray. The Ravens doubts in the pass rushing department are still in the back of our minds three weeks into the preseason, and that’s a problem.

Penalties were a real problem in this game. The officials called this game very tightly, yet there is no excuse for such a high volume of penalties. It got to a point in the WBAL broadcast where Gerry Sandusky reminded Brian Billick of a game against the Lions where the Ravens had over 20 penalties. Preseason football is nobodies favorite football, and the constant flag made it rougher than it had to be.
