IR – Tavon Young

Thanks to the outstanding play of Trace McSorley, the Baltimore Ravens will wind up keeping three quarterbacks in addition to Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III. McSorley proved he belongs behind his stellar performances throughout the preseason.

Kenneth Dixon also made a strong case to make the final 53-man roster. Dixon showed off the electric play-making ability that he’s always had. While it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make the roster, it would make the most sense for Baltimore to immediately shop him to teams in need of running back depth (hello, Houston).

The wide receiver position undoubtedly had the stiffest competition. There were a few locks outside of Willie Snead, Marquise Brown, and Mikes Boykin. This is also somewhat also true of Chris Moore and Seth Roberts. Jaleel Scott balled out this preseason and showed he can hang with the big-boys. Keeping six receivers is a rarity for Baltimore, but they all belong.

After the trade of Jermaine Eluemunor, the Ravens offensive line depth looks bleak. The starters look strong, but a single injury could derail the entire unit. Bradley Bozeman and Ben Powers could both start at some point this season, while Patrick Mekari showed off enough in the preseason to warrant his spot.

On defense, linebacker Chris Board and defensive lineman Gerald Willis both played well enough to earn depth positions with the team. They both have solid upside, making them intriguing guys to stash away.

With Tavon Young on IR and this not costing a spot on the 53-man roster, Bennett Jackson is able to hang on to his gig with the Ravens secondary. The unit is loaded at the top with some intriguing backups. Cyrus Jones gets a spot if for no other reason than for special teams.
