Well, we went back and forth, but ended up going with three quarterbacks by adding Trace McSorley to the final 53. We saw Lamar Jackson have to come out of two games last season with minor injuries (an ankle against Kansas City, and a stint in the concussion protocol after getting kicked in the head by a teammate in Atlanta). And backup quarterback Robert Griffin III has had a career-long struggle with injuries since the end of his rookie season.

Plus, I like McSorley. He’s tough. He’s a proven winner. And his improvement throughout the summer has been clear. He’s a gamer, and that helps your team.

I ended up keeping six wide receivers, which kept Roberts on the roster, after Eluemunor got traded to the Patriots.

I kept Senat as a developmental tackle who I believe would be snatched from the practice squad because of the dearth of offensive linemen in the league and his natural abilities. Something is telling me the Ravens are still going to make another move somewhere before the roster is set, and that would impact Senat’s spot.

Alaka stays because of two reasons: He has stood out on special teams and on defense throughout the preseason; and, I really want the streak to continue of undrafted free agents making the roster.

The cornerback decisions are kind of tricky. I’m holding out hope that they will designate Young to return, so they must keep him on the initial 53 before doing that. Also, I’m guessing that rookie Iman Marshall will be stashed away on IR on the “Jaleel Scott Plan.”

If they keep one more defensive back, I would want Brynden Trawick, both due to special teams and because he makes tackles when he’s on the field. That is an underrated trait.
