The Ravens Flock is excited about the regular season opener against the Miami Dolphins. Ravens fans have chipped in their bold predictions via Twitter. I’m here to buy or sell these predictions:

Kevin Topper’s prediction(@KevinTopper92): Lamar Jackson will lead the Ravens in rushing. I expect it to be a little bit of a learning curve in the beginning of the season which will lead to Lamar leaning on his athleticism before this offense fully peaks.

Verdict: Sell

I don’t doubt that Jackson will contribute in the rushing attack. Jackson will make some big plays on the ground. I just see the entire running game firing on all cylinders. This should be a great first game for Mark Ingram. I think he will lead the team in rushing against the Dolphins.

I also think that Jackson is more ready to deliver as a passer than you think he is. He looked sharp and ready in the two preseason games he got in there. Everything out of Ravens camp has been positive in regards to Jackson’s command of the offense. Jackson will have a great game doing it all. His passing numbers may not be huge in this game but that’s because they may not need to be.

Marcus Whyche’s prediction (@Mwhyche22): Lamar Jackson throws for over 350 yards, is my bold prediction

Verdict: Sell

Jackson is going to have a good game, but 350 yards through the air is an unrealistic expectation. That’s not how the Ravens are going to do it. I think he could have 350 total yards but to get all of that in the air would be unbelievable. Put me down for Jackson to have 250 passing yards. That seems more likely.

Brian M’s predictions (@briski715): I have 2.

  1. Gus Edwards will have under 20 yards rushing at halftime but will total 100 yards rushing by end of the game.
  2. Matt Judon will take a silly 15 yard flag in the 4th quarter.

Verdict: Buy

The first prediction is one that I like a lot. Edwards isn’t the starter but he could be the finisher. In the four minute offense he is going to get a lot of work. If the Ravens establish an early lead (something they better do against this Dolphins team) you will see a lot more of Edwards as the game goes along. I’m buying that Edwards is capable of having a game just like that against Miami.

The second prediction is something I would like to sell. I just know that it could happen. Emotions are running high in the first week of the season and if you’re going to get a silly penalty it could easily come from Judon. Lining up offsides, going too far after the whistle, there are a lot of ways this could happen. This is a cautionary buy of this prediction.

@bradfitzwa prediction: Fitzpatrick completes a bomb for 35+ yards and Brown gets 20 on an end around or screen from Lamar.

Verdict: Buy

Ryan Fitzpatrick is annoying in the sense that you never know what to expect. He can have a great game or he can have a bad game and there is absolutely nothing in between. Fitzpatrick is a gunslinger and games don’t go as perfectly as we play them out in our head. The first part of this prediction is entirely plausible.

Marquise Brown getting 20 yards on an end around or a screen… that could happen in every single game. Brown just has to get the ball and a little bit of daylight and he’s going to pick up extra yards. I’m buying this prediction all day.
