Ravens WR’s

Lamar Jackson should take a step this year in terms of his accuracy and helping his wide receivers become more fantasy relevant. For week one though, I wouldn’t trust any of the Baltimore Ravens wide receivers enough to start.

This week I see being a very run-heavy attack, as the Ravens should be up most of the game and passing will not be a priority. Also, one of the only bright spots for Miami is Pro-Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard. Howard will blanket any receiver he lines up against on Sunday and Jackson would be smart to look the other way.

We have to wait and see who emerges as Jackson’s go-to WR target out the group of Willie Snead, Marquise Brown, and Miles Boykin. I personally would keep on eye on Miles Boykin this week. If he gets more than five targets and shows good chemistry with Jackson, I think he could be a nice waiver-wire pickup in a few weeks.

If you did want to start a Ravens pass-catcher, tight end Mark Andrews is a nice play as a low-end TE1 this week. The chemistry between him and Jackson has blossomed this training camp. With tight end being such a sallow position for fantasy, Andrews will be a fine play most weeks.

All the Dolphins players:

This one will be very quick, there is not a Miami Dolphins player you should be looking to start this week. The Ravens defense should be looking to get after this lack-luster Dolphins offense, lead by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Yes, “Fitzmagic” struck a few times last year for the Buccaneers, but this Dolphins offense does not have Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson and Chris Godwin like Tampa Bay had last year.

Miami just traded their stud left tackle in Laremy Tunsil and their top weapons are running back Kenyan Drake and wide receiver Albert Wilson. Those are two guys to keep on an eye on this season as they can be the only fantasy contributors for Miami. However, not in week one versus this fully loaded “Wink” Martindale, Ravens defense.

I expect the Ravens to create a few takeaways and build up a sizable lead. This of course makes the Ravens D/ST an auto start this week in Fantasy Football as well. Best of luck of this week one with the rest of your Fantasy Football lineup. I’ll be back early next week for a Ravens fantasy stock report.
