Oh what a wonderful Baltimore Ravens Sunday it was:

The Baltimore Ravens opened the 2019 season with a 59-10 thumping of the undermanned Miami Dolphins in a road win that left fans salivating over the breathtaking speed up and down this roster.

Mark Ingram got the party started with a 49-yard rush on the first play of the game, and eventually pushed across the goal line to cap the opening drive of the season with a touchdown, setting the tone for a record-breaking performance. The Ravens were relentless on defense, stout on both lines and largely disciplined throughout the game.

And, boy oh boy, were they explosive.

Let’s get to some quick thoughts from today’s electrifying performance.

• Lamar Jackson. There were some remarkable performances from several players and units today, but we have to start with the young quarterback. Yes, this was against the Dolphins, and they are not good, but those passes to Marquise “Hollywood” Brown were pinpoint, as was the touchdown to Snead in the seam. It doesn’t end with those, either. Jackson was razor sharp all day, completing 17 of 20 passes for 324 yards and five touchdowns. That’s ridiculous, and it’s ridiculous if your name is Jackson or Brady or Unitas. We might be watching something special in the future. We certainly did today.
