24. Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan had an up and down day, throwing for two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Atlanta defense had a tough day stopping Dalton Cook and the Minnesota running game. Atlanta allowed almost 200 rushing yards, 111 of that to Cook alone. Julio Jones was kept in check, with only 6 receptions for 31 yards.

23. Oakland Raiders

After all of the drama, the Raiders were finally able to pull the attention away from the Antonio Brown saga, and back onto the field, with a 24-16 victory over the Broncos. Derek Carr looked sharp and precise, connection on 22 out of 26 passes, with one touchdown. Josh Jacobs looked like a stud, finishing with two scores and over 100 total scrimmage yards, the first rookie to do so since Ladainian Tomlinson. Oakland’s defense was stout, pressuring Joe Flacco all game long. Jon Gruden did a great job to block out the noise and have his guys ready for the bright lights. A good start for the men in black.

22. San Francisco 49ers

Jimmy Garoppolo‘s return to the field was a shaky one. He finished 19/27 for, 166 yards, with one touchdown, and an interception. The 49ers defense was the main attraction, having three interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. They also sacked Jameis Winston three times. Robbie Gould looked solid as well, going three of four on field goals, with a long of 47.

21. Pittsburgh Steelers

In what was maybe the biggest shock of the week, the Steelers were blown out of the water, 33-3 by the New England Patriots. Pittsburgh was unable to conjure any kind of production on offense. New England’s defense looked to always be one step ahead of a conservative Steelers game plan. JuJu Smith-Schuster looked outmatched as the new number one receiver, and their rushing game was putrid, totaling only 32 total yards. It’s only week one, but that game offered some reasons to be worried.
