A talent boost, but at what cost?

The talent boost that Minkah Fitzpatrick would give to the defense would be absolutely insane. The Ravens could flex him all over the field and he could do anything they ask of him. He’s so talented that his addition could make him the best player on this defense!

The only problem is Baltimore’s abundance of talent in the secondary as well as the cost. There’s little doubt that Miami wants a first round selection for Fitzpatrick’s services, and it’s hard to justify that on a defensive back. The 2020 NFL Draft also looks stacked, making it even harder to surrender such a valuable draft pick.

However, the Baltimore Ravens are winning right now and Fitzpatrick could put them over the top. A first round pick wouldn’t be hard to move, especially if the Ravens could swindle a sixth round pick out of them as well. Considering Baltimore would likely be picking later in round one after this move, it seems worth it.

In the later part of any draft, it’s hard not to justify moving a late round one pick for an established, talented player. Do you think the Chicago Bears were OK with moving their 2019 first (along with other picks) for Khalil Mack? I’d say yes, confidently… The same would go for the Ravens moving a first round pick for a Pro Bowl-level defensive back in Fitzpatrick. It’s a huge win for both teams.

Next. Baltimore Ravens offense will be on display all season long. dark

Will this move happen? Highly unlikely; and I can’t emphasize that enough. Still, Baltimore should at least inquire about acquiring Minkah Fitzpatrick’s services, as he would be a major boon for the defense as a whole. Adding Fitzpatrick to this secondary would be making a great thing even better, and the Ravens should be all over it for the right price.
