2. The Run game has to be be strong:

The Baltimore Ravens need to get more out of their running game against the Chiefs. The Ravens lead the league in rushing yards however Lamar Jackson kept those numbers up against the Chiefs. Mark Ingram II had some tough sledding against the Cardinals. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill totaled just 15 yards on the ground. This kind of performance won’t cut it against the Chiefs. The Ravens need to run the ball and they need to do it in a dominant fashion.

The Ravens need to run the ball for two reasons. First, being able to get four or five yards at a time on the ground is a good way to stay on schedule offensively. Third down efficiency is one of the key components to the Ravens walking out of Arrowhead with a win. Secondly, the Ravens need to control the time of possession battle. Limiting the Chiefs offense is a great thing. Making Mahomes wait for his chances could knock the Kansas City offense out of rhythm.

The Ravens need 100 yards on the ground before Jackson’s running ability even factors into the equation. That’s the minimum amount of yards that Ingram, Edwards and Hill can put up for Baltimore to get this win. Jackson has been impressive as a passer however the offense is still built on the ground game. The running game is of paramount importance in this game.
