There’s been a ton of positives for the 2019 edition of the Baltimore Ravens thus far, but running back Mark Ingram has been one of the best parts for them.

The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the NFL’s most fun teams to watch thus far in the 2019 season. Lamar Jackson is having an MVP caliber season, and his cast of play-makers are highlight reel machines. Rookie Marquise Brown is making a strong case for Offensive Rookie of the Year, and newly added running back Mark Ingram has been sensation for Baltimore’s ground game.

In fact, let’s take a moment to focus on Ingram, who has been exactly what the Ravens hoped he would be. Ingram has been electric and powered Baltimore’s offense thanks to his consistency and downhill running styles. He perfectly fits what the Baltimore Ravens have always valued in their running backs.

What makes watching Mark Ingram such a treat has been his ability to punish defenses and put up points. Ingram already has five touchdowns on the season and is averaging 6.0 YPC. Those are elite stats for any running back, and the 29-year old Ingram is making his younger counterparts look like second-rate runners.

While this isn’t to slight the rest of the NFL’s elite running backs, it just speaks to how well Ingram has played. His 2019 season is trending towards one of the best seasons he’s put together. The numbers back up this claim, but the way he’s playing simply looks like a rejuvenated, reborn guy.

There was always a feeling that Mark Ingram would have a renaissance in Baltimore due to him being allowed to be a bell-cow. Hopes and expectations were high, and he’s done nothing but exceed them. Ingram has been a perfect fit for this team; exactly what the doctor called for.

Better yet, Ingram compliments the rest of the backfield so well. Coupled with another power-back in Gus Edwards, the two are hard-running beasts who wear-down defenses. It’s hard to stop two guys with a mentality to break you. You can’t ask for much more than that.

Right now, the Baltimore Ravens rushing attack seems unstoppable with Mark Ingram at the helm. Ingram already appears to be a lock for 1,000 rushing yards and double-digit touchdowns, but his mind is undoubtedly on some franchise milestones and a Super Bowl title. With what we’ve seen thus far, Mark Ingram is worth every penny Baltimore gave him and then some.
