Bottom line:

At the end of the day, there are legitimate concerns about this team. The secondary looks terrible. Keep your communication issues. In the last two weeks, they’ve given up 361.5 passing yards per game. Get healthy Jimmy Smith; we need ya! Yes the same Jimmy Smith everyone wants to bash until they realize how much the Baltimore Ravens miss the veteran cornerback. A pass rush would help the secondary.

Lamar Jackson needs to get more wide receivers involved in the passing game. The Ravens three tight ends are great, but at the end of the day, you need to hit some big plays deeper down the field and you need your wide receivers to do that. I am not talking about the Hail Mary plays, either. We did get a Seth Roberts and Chris Moore sighting yesterday leaving me to channel my inner M&M’s fan to say “They do exist!”

I remained grounded after the first few weeks of the year. Sorry for not writing, but sometimes life happens. Every loss in the NFL hurts. There’s only 16 games and stacking wins is paramount to postseason aspirations. But here the Baltimore Ravens are at 2-1. First in the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers are winless. The Cleveland Browns have only a win against the hapless Jets and questions are already starting in regards to their new Head Coach Freddie Kitchens.

The Browns will come to M&T Bank Stadium the more desperate team. The Baltimore Ravens will arrive with an opportunity to extend their division lead. Whatever happens next week, let’s remember that things are never as good or as bad as they see
